Darkness!
Pitch darkness!
I could not even see the palm of my hands!
Whisper entered my realm not in the usual vision that I was accustomed in my daily meditations at 3 am.
Whisper’s presence was her mere silence. Whisper said,
“Have you forgotten your good friend, Darkness who has been by your side all these years?”
I could not react, dumbfounded by the darkness of the introduction. Then, I recall the lyrics of the song, which gave me so much comfort whenever I was troubled.
Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
I felt so stupid, so idiotic that in the Sound of Silence of the night, Darkness was my loyal companion.
