From the 1980s to 2003, the political forces led by Tun Mahathir Mohamad when he was the head of UMNO for 22 years, and together with the power addicts led by Anwar Ibrahim, have constructed an almost impregnable wall and rampart to ISOLATE and DIVIDE the rakyat (people) of Malaysia from being united with the Constitutional Monarch and the Rulers of their respective states.
The genuine Constitutionalists could not do anything because:
- The Rulers as an Institution did not provide the institutional leadership to ensure that the entrenched provisions in the Constitution were adhered to especially by the Malay politicians. The politicians from UMNO paid lip service and by subterfuge portrayed themselves as the champions and defenders of the Rulers and Islam; and
- The Malay majority after intense brainwashing, accepted the status quo and were led to believe that the Agong (the King) and the Rulers were mere figureheads, puppets under the thumb of the politicians and to be TOLERATED.
