PUTIN WARNS NATO: Buffer Zones, Nukes, Hypersonics as Russia Sets Red Lines
Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a series of warnings to NATO during a meeting with senior military leaders, framing the war in Ukraine as a confrontation driven by Western military power operating through Kyiv. In a twelve-minute address to the Defence Ministry board, Putin said Russia would achieve its objectives in Ukraine either through diplomacy or by force, ruled out a frozen conflict, and confirmed plans to expand security buffer zones.
He also highlighted new nuclear and hypersonic weapons systems, confirmed the deployment of the Oreshnik missile to combat duty, and accused NATO of militarising space, underscoring Moscow’s view that Western support for Ukraine amounts to direct participation in the conflict.
