But, he was prepared to die for what he believed. I can understand the passion, faith, feelings and empathize with the sacrifices he made and that of his family.
Regardless of your religious beliefs, the least we can do is to unite in grieve for the man and his family – he was publicly executed for his belief. His religion was and never the issue! Truth is the only issue!
Nothing that we have suffered can be compared with the ultimate sacrifice that Charlie made. The lyrics of this song moved my heart and soul. Meditate on the lyrics, notwithstanding it is a Christian song, sung by an American. I make no distinctions, but to hold on to the truth and I pray for the same strength that knowing others may harm me and my family. Imprisonment, no matter how long and painful to expose the Truths, is a price worth paying for but, it is not the ultimate sacrifice.
There can be no shame to be behind steel bars and being wrongfully incarcerated. It is a badge of honour and prepare us for the ultimate sacrifice! Truth and Justice always prevails.
