This book is a grim warning to Malaysians that the country is on the path to national suicide. The Barisan Nasional’s General Elections debacle in March 2008 is a mere prelude to the inevitable bloody social upheaval, should the Badawi regime remain in power beyond 2010. UMNO, the backbone of the Barisan Nasional is in a state of paralysis, its rank and file in disarray and is perceived as lacking credible leaders. Vision 2020, a mere twelve years from fulfillment is no longer the principal focus of the nation. Malaysia is a ship without a captain!
The Author pulls no punches in telling the sordid state of affairs that have prevailed since the Badawi regime came to power in October 2003. The chronology of abuse of power, corruption, incompetence, mismanagement of the economy, uninspired leadership and subservience to foreign interests in the short span of four years have blemished the excellent record of accomplishment in the last 51 years, specifically the previous 22 years under the leadership of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. For the first time, nepotism has reared its ugly head. The Trinity of Power – the Father, the Son, and the Son-in-law – in its quest for unbridled power and wealth has undermined key government institutions, side-lined the top echelons of the civil service and wrought havoc in the criminal justice system.
